Up The River [14 Dec 2009|12:43pm]
Hey! This is the stuff Robert has been working on recently!:

Up The River is Now Available!
Hallows Eve Designs is excited to publish Up the River, the much anticipated campaign for Unhallowed Metropolis. Up the River takes players from the ashen streets of London to the benighted jungles of Borneo. There, weirder dangers than the animate dead await those who would reclaim their colony for fame, wealth or empire.

Inspired by the writings of Joseph Conrad, Rudyard Kipling and George MacDonald Frazier, Up the River is an exploration of colonialism and travel in the New Dark Age. Written by Simon Berman, Up the River includes everything necessary to narrate a campaign set in Borneo and is superbly illustrated by Robert Tritthardt. In addition to a detailed narrative and regional descriptions, the campaign includes pre-generated characters with original biographies, new items, new skills and the Explorer Calling!

Unhallowed Metropolis: Up the River is a PDF-only product that is not a full game in itself; it requires a copy of the Unhallowed Metropolis core rulebook to play. You can download a free sample on the Hallows Eve Downloads Page or purchase the entire campaign on DrivethruRPG.

You can download Up the River...

Shine: "Dude, where's your girlfriend?"
Writhe: "She went out to 80's Night."
Shine: "Where are they having 80's Night?"
Writhe: "EVERYWHERE."
Shine: "...I fucking hate 80's music."
Writhe: "Ah, it's OK."
Shine: "You just think that because you didn't grow up with it."
Writhe: "I remember it a little, mostly the later stuff."
Shine: "I'm just so tired of hearing the same fucking songs over and over again."
Writhe: "Welcome to my world."
Shine: "It's just that all that ever gets played is Top 40 crap."
Writhe: "You mean Same 40."
Shine: "Exactly. I mean, there are whole albums of music that people haven't heard because they always choose to listen to Sweet Dreams or Tainted Love or Take On Me."
Writhe: "Heh, if some of those albums were reworked a little bit, they would fit very well with what all the hipsters are listening to today."
Shine: "But nooo, people have to go out to their 80's night and make the DJ play 99 Red Balloons on repeat while reliving their 'glory days' when everything was 'so much better'. Well I have some news for them! It SUCKED back then, and it sucks now! Quit trying to re-live your past! Ugh! Those people make me fucking sick!"
Writhe: *sips his chai*

Later that night I found Shine listening to The Smiths albums on his record player.

writheandshine.com has been updated.

Now you can see all the Writhe and Shine comics as well as a sample of my illustrations.
Several of the illustrations are from the upcoming book "Unhallowed Necropolis" due out in April.

From the desk of Robert Tritthardt [24 Nov 2008|06:58pm]
Hey there everyone.
I'm sure quite a few of you have noticed that the writheandshine.com site has been down. And I'm sure more of you noticed that I haven't drawn a comic strip in over a year. Well, I don't want to go into great detail here on why these two things happened. Maybe I just like to reboot every so often.

Speaking of rebooting and starting fresh, I am moving again. Don't worry, I'll still be in Seattle and easily reachable by e-mail and cell phone (for those of you who are lucky enough to have my number. :P)

In any case, I don't have much to move, but one of the things I'll have to put in storage is my stack of Writhe and Shine comic books. I really don't want to do that. I would much rather have them be in the hands of people like -you- that will put them to good use (reading them, passing them around to your friends and then as some really rough toilet paper or kindling on those cold winter nights).

I bagged and boarded a bunch of books, stickers, and buttons and they're all ready to go out in the mail. Each package is worth at least $10 retail and will definitely contain at least one signed copy of Writhe and Shine Issue #1"Lies, Rumors and Twisted Words" and one signed copy of Writhe and Shine Issue #2 "Tonight Only". All I need to do is put an address on the envelope and send them off. That's where -you- come in.

All you have to do is send me $10 via PayPal and your FULL snail mail address. That's right! FREE SHIPPING! Unfortunately, I am only able to offer this to residents of the US and Canada. I would really like to take special orders or offer what is left of my t-shirt stock, but I just don't have the time for it. You people need Christmas presents for your cool friends right away and this is a cheap and easy way to do that. Also, I only have a limited supply of comic books to sell, so BE QUICK ABOUT IT!! First come, first serve.

Send your Paypal payments of $10 to dj.nospam42@gmail.com (yes, my e-mail went down with the site (so you'll just have to believe that it's me)) with your FULL shipping address and I'll send these books off as soon as your payment clears!

Thanks a bunch!

Robert Tritthardt

writheandshine.com [06 Oct 2008|01:23pm]
I have less than a month to renew the website address.
That and ubercomics.com.

I'm thinking of saving myself the $30.

Writhe and Shine at WGT '08??? [08 Nov 2007|08:30pm]
This just posted by [info]dj_sprockets:

If I had known about Treffen in 1998 when I backpacked around Europe for three months, I certainly would have attended.
I have never been to Treffen.
I'm thinking about going in '08.
I have already requested a vendor's application which they are sending in December.
I mainly want to go so that I can possibly rid myself of the MANY boxes of Writhe and Shine comic books I have collecting dust and cat hair in my closet. It might also get me to get my ass in gear to make another book (or part of a book) by then.

My questions are:
1. Does anyone have any concise advice for a WGT first timer?
2. Any tricks on getting inexpensive plane tickets?
3. Any recommendations on places to stay (or not to stay)?
4. Has anyone ever vended at an overseas event?
5. Is anyone else planning on going?
